Dear friends, colleagues, teachers, senior members and students.
Warm greeting to the esteemed members of Association of Southern Urologists. We are delighted to announce that Thrissur shall be hosting the 38th Annual Conference of the Association of Southern Urologists SZUSICON 2027. I express my sincere gratitude and thanks to ASU council for giving us an opportunity to host this event.
Thrissur known as the cultural capital of Kerala, is a historic city in southwestern India, famous for the Thrissur Pooram festival, the Vadakkumnathan temple and its rich heritage. It serves as a hub for traditional arts and culture.
Thrissur formerly known as Trichur, also known by its historical name Thrissivaperur. Sakthan Thampuran Raja Ravi Varma, the Maharaja of Cochin, reigned 1790-1805. He is considered the architect and founder of modern Thrissur city. He established the city as his capital, redesigned it around the Vadakkumnathan temple and inaugurated the famous Thrissur Pooram festival. The real name of Thrissur is Trishivaperur or Thirushivaperur, which means the town in the name of Lord Shiva. It was traditionally known as Vrishabhajipuram or Ten Kailasam, Kailas of the South.
It is celebrated as the cultural capital of Kerala. Thrissur is very easily accessible by all major modes of transport. As a major city in Kerala, it is well connected by rest of India by air travel, extensive rail network and a robust road system.
Thrissur is located in the central part of Kerala, with lot of tourist and pilgrimage locations in and around its famous Guruvayur temple and Athirapalli waterfalls, and most of the tourist destinations in Kerala can be accessed from Thrissur.
The energetic and enthusiastic organizing committee shall see that no stone is unturned to make this conference a great success and a memorable one for you and your family.
